Landscape and Ecological Management Plans
Following initial approval, it is common for local planning authorities to condition the need for a Landscape and Ecological Management Plan (LEMP). This document details how habitats and other ecological enhancements will be managed and maintained in the long-term. This will often be accompanied by a Section 106 agreement to ensure that this management strategy is adhered to post construction. In the context of Biodiversity Net Gain, a LEMP is always required in order to demonstrate how the target habitat conditions in the metric will be met.
As part of our LEMPs, we outline the aims and objectives for each habitat and species group within the site, and clearly detail the management required along with its timing and frequency. Everything is cross-referenced with a simple schedule and annotated site plan.
